Looking for a copy-editor? Be it in English or German proofreading, we check all texts meticulously to ensure that the spelling, punctuation and grammar are correct. Our editors make use of the approved standard reference materials in the given language. But it's not just spelling mistakes that our editors look out for. At ad editum we also ensure the correct and consistent use of technical terms. Almost all of our copy-editing is done electronically, using either PDF correction tools or the 'Track Changes' function in Microsoft Word.

In many cases, texts created or translated using artificial intelligence (AI) are already quite good, but a closer look reveals typical shortcomings such as spelling mistakes, inconsistencies in terminology, weaknesses in terms of sentence structure, word choice and style or difficult readability and comprehensibility. AI tools cannot therefore completely replace human linguistic competence and intuition. Particularly for content that requires a certain tone of voice, it is important to have the text proofread or edited and adapted if necessary. Our proofreaders and editors do not limit themselves to grammar, punctuation and spelling, but can also give texts a final polish if required, because human intelligence and creativity are unique.

We are one of very few copy-editing offices and translation agencies working up to one hundred percent paper-free for the benefit of the environment. So could you call us a 'green' editing office or a 'green' translation agency? In a way, yes.
As a company with an interest in sustainability and the efficient use of resources, we take our social responsibility seriously. From early on, our focus has been on e-translation and e-proofreading (that is, electronic translation and electronic proofreading). This means that our editors and translators normally work on texts on the screen instead of printing them, unless the printed form is expressly requested. Corrections to texts are made electronically in the document file, either in the form of comments or using the 'Track Changes' tool. This not only saves resources but also makes subsequent processing of the documents more convenient for our clients. It also makes it easier for our clients to keep track of our notes and corrections; unlike with handwritten corrections, they need not worry about deciphering difficult handwriting or interpreting standard proofreading annotations. And best of all, we do not require a surcharge for electronic processing.
